Features that are common to most minivans includes: length not much larger than a car, a front that is similar to a car, opening hatches on the rear and three rows of seats. Usually, the third row can be removed for extra storage space. In most cases minivans have sliding doors instead of those that open outward. Sliding doors may be located on one or both sides of the vehicle.
Minivans are often preferred to station wagons, a typical car for large families, because they are roomier and fuel-efficient.
